I have a death discrepancy and wanted to know how you would handle?    Death on side note on the birth record.  See pic below shows death 23 Jun 1960    yet found headstone   that shows 1973.  Any insight would greatlt be appreciated.

Exactly. They might be two different Jans Janiks. It is not an uncommon surname. If not, the info in the official record is always much more reliable than that on a tombstone.

The person who died is his mother. She passed on 9 Apr 1960
I agree its a very common names (Jan Janik) died on 23 Jun 1960 yet he is buried with his mother and father and his wife, Also, his birth record with his parents name.
